Fireball

Description

Rolling flamethrower bots that patrol in groups and spray fire at close range. Fireballs are squat, ball-shaped machines with an extending flame nozzle. Their white-hot core is normally shielded but becomes exposed when they attack.

Behavior

Fireballs roll along patrol routes in groups of 2-4. When they detect a player, they stop, extend their flame nozzle, and spray a cone of fire. While attacking, their white inner core becomes visible and vulnerable. Between flame bursts they retract and reposition. They are more dangerous in enclosed spaces where their fire fills corridors.

• 1Wait for a Fireball to start its flame attack to expose the white core, then shoot it for massive bonus damage.
• 2Keep your distance. Their flame spray is short range but deals heavy damage per second if you stand in it.
• 3Fireballs patrol in groups. If you spot one, expect 2-3 more nearby.
• 4In tight corridors, bait their flame attack and then shoot the core from the side while they commit to the animation.
